This track illustrates the evolution of Jason's "Philistine Girl" to what eventually became "Problems with Prolonged Youth," as is coasts through three demo versions strung together as one.
1. Jason's original demo was given to Ryan without the "Philistine Girl" lyrics or vocal melody. So Ryan added his own vocals and lyrics to it, thinking/hoping that was okay with Jason.
2. Full band/"acoustic" version. This is a mix of a band practice tape with guitar and vocals added later via Garageband. The guitar sounds acoustic, but it's actually just an electric that's not plugged in. The full band is mixed way too low.
3. Early demo recorded by Ryan and Melissa in the hopes that Jason would add his keyboard part later. The best part about this version is how loud the cymbal crashes are during Melissa's vocal parts. Really slow decay, too. It's a good example of why we love tape recordings.
